Role: Senior Content Designer

Challenge: There are nearly 40 million people in the US living with chronic health conditions X and Y. For these conditions, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) has proven to be one of the most effective treatments. However, due to the hight cost of therapy and the limited number of therapists trained in CBT, access to this treatment is difficult for many. Our challenge was to create an effective app-based digital CBT therapy to manage these conditions and the specific needs of these populations.
Result: We successfully developed two complete CBT-based programs and currently have one going through a mechanism of action (MOA) study for condition X before it goes into a clinical trial. The purpose of the study was to gauge:
If we've translated key concepts in ways that are clear to patients
If our presentation of what we're asking patients to do is clear to them
Patient buy-in, motivation, confidence, and perceived helpfulness of the program
The clinical trial will measure efficacy through change in tinnitus symptoms outcome measures as compared to a control.
My role: In collaboration with our clinical and experience design teams, my role was to write, design, and edit two new app-based digital programs for people living with chronic health conditions X and Y. The goal was to create user-centered content that adheres to Mahana’s tone and voice and lead these projects end to end.
